So I have just completed my second week of physio therapy. I first of want to thank all the staff at Physio-Care Services for being simply amazing and my physio therapist for helping me get a great start on my healing process. My pain level has gone down dramatically and my need for pain killers have almost vanquished. The various electrical stimulator's that are used really seem to be working. My favorite so far is the 2 Channel Quad Stimulator. They inlay these 2 long pads on my quad muscles, place a towel wrapped can under my leg and once he current hits the quads it makes them dance dance and I raise my leg while pointing my toes as high as I can. Now the fun part is I get to play with the current myself.
On top playing with electricity and zapping myself I have been given a series pain staking exercises to re-strengthen my leg, hip and get my knee bending. I have also started to learn to walk again with the help of my walker. It is amazing that after a month how much your brain forgets, even what a person may consider a simple thing like walking. I am truly humbled at what I took for granted like walking and one of my favorite pastimes mountain biking.
However all in all it has been great to get out of the apartment and to have some sort of a regular schedule again.
